Greymouth Instructors & Training

Greymouth is the largest town in the Grey District Area, located on the West Coast of the South Island in New Zealand. The town is located at the mouth of the Grey River, on a narrow coastal plain close to the foot of the Southern Alps. It has the turnaround of the Tranz Alpine train journey, recognised as one of the top train trips in the world and one form of public transport that you’ll actually wish took a little bit longer. Greymouth and the surrounding Grey Valley offer adventure activities, heritage attractions and guided nature tours. Cycle the easy West Coast Wilderness Trail or visit Shantytown, a replica of a 1880′s gold town.

2 Drive Safe instructors in Greymouth offer motorcycle training (including One on One Training, Competency Based Training & Assessment, and Ride Forever Courses). Improve your skill level and confidence, and take your riding to the next level with courses suited for all stages of learning.

DUNCAN SEED
Lead Instructor

Duncan was born in 1967 and comes all the way from Lancashire in England. When learning to drive in the 80′s he was inspired by his own driving instructor to enjoy driving, be safe and keep learning new things. He learned to ride in the 90′s, on a Kawasaki ER5, and absolutely loved it! This later inspired him to undergo the gruelling task of becoming an approved driving instructor in the UK – which he passed with flying colours in 2001.

After moving to New Zealand in 2006, Duncan qualified as an NZTA driving instructor and approved course provider. Along the way he gained myriads of experience including: commercial training & licensing, becoming an ITO approved assessor and writer of NZQA unit standards, becoming an IAM member and examiner (for cars & bikes), and recently served as the National Vice President for New Zealand Institute of Driver Educators. So basically, he’s pretty clued up!

Duncan is an expert of explaining the ‘why do’ and showing the ‘how to’ of driving and riding. Training with him is always a fun and rewarding experience, and will build your understanding and skills so you are able to get the best from your bike or car, and New Zealand’s awesome roads.
