  After You Pass!

When you are successful in passing your test you will be presented with a test completion certificate, which you can then take to any approved licencing agent, take the computer based theory test after studying the road code for motorbikes and having a practice on the NZIDE practice website Driving tests site or official practice web site. Pay the fees and get your temporary learners licence- yeah!

Please remember that just because you have got your licence you it doesn't mean you are a great rider. You are a Learner and can now begin the process of learning to ride your bike safely on NZ roads.

You need to develop good habits of checking mirrors and doing Lifesaver checks over your shoulder before setting off, changing lanes or merging. Check out the Practice web site and e-Drive to help you upskill. We recomend that you take one of our on road courses which are subsidised by ACC and ECAN

Also once you get your Class 6 Learners there are some limitations on what you can do and ride - check those out on the NZTA fact sheet.

GET MORE TRAINING - ACC and Ecan Roadsafety subsidise our on road courses  that help you improve your skills and we will give you details of those when you pass your Basic Handling Skills Test or check the link above. Training is an investment in your life and your future and is never wasted. With the subsidised courses we offer, professional high quality training is now easily affordable to every rider, even those with lots of experience who are willing to up skill.

The Ride Forever website is great for everything about safe motorbike riding.

Make sure you invest in some good motorcycle safety gear. every $$ you spend on good gear is an investment in your body! Cover every body part as skin and tar seal don't mix very well. We would recommend Living The Dream Motorcycle Clothing as a good place to start. They also have Tshirts and patches and other cool stuff.

Finally for those who really want to develop their skills to the highest level and ride as safely as possible you might want to consider joining the Institute of Advanced Motorcylists (IAM). We are members of the Canterbury group ( & have passed the IAM Advanced Motorcycle Test) and more information can be found on The Institutes web site. We train up to these standards and use their systems throughout our subsidised training courses
