Terms & Conditions
2 Drive Safe Rider & Driver Training is committed to providing all of our clients with exceptional service and training. Instructors reserve the right to stop any training, assessment or testing in the interests of Health and Safety. In this case, it will be at the instructors discretion as to whether the rest of the session is forfeited or can be re scheduled.
Motorcycle Training (including Ride Forever, CBTA & BHST)
Basic Handling Skills tests and training: 2 Drive Safe will provide a motorcycle for the training and basic handling skills test free of charge. This is a geared bike. If you want, you may bring your own motorcycle (it must be registered as a motorcycle, not a moped) that is over 50cc and more than 2kw power per tonne. This can be a geared or non geared bike, but must have a current WOF, vehicle licence registration and be in a road legal state at the time of course (working lights etc). Responsibility for bringing your bike to the training ground rests with the individual.
When attending a BHST you need to ensure you have covered arms (long sleeve jumper or jacket), legs (denim jeans preferred) and sturdy footwear that covers your ankles. You may still be charged if you do not comply.
Course (Ride Forever & CBTA) participants must provide their own motorcycle that has a current WOF, vehicle licence registration and be in a road legal state at the time of course. If needed, you can hire a motorcycle from 2 Drive Safe. Riders must have a current NZ Driving Licence of the correct class level that entitles them to ride the motorcycle and be legally entitled to ride on NZ roads. Riders must have appropriate safety gear including motorcycle helmet, gloves, jacket, pants and boots. All legal speed limits and road rules must be complied with whilst undergoing training and assessment. Any offences committed will be the responsibility of the rider and we recommend the riders motorcycle is insured for at least Third Party cover. Riders should be drug and alcohol free when presenting for training or assessment. 2 Drive Safe & their instructors reserve the right to refuse training to anyone not complying with the above. If this happens you may be charged for the training and / or assessment.
In your own vehicle: Students must ensure that their vehicle has a current WOF and vehicle licence and is fit for use on the day of the lesson. We would also prefer to get into a clean vehicle and reserve the right to refuse a lesson if the vehicle is not clean and fit for use. If this happens you may be charged for the lesson. Any offences committed will be the responsibility of the driver and we recommend that your vehicle be insured for at least Third party cover. If you do not have insurance you must notify the instructor on arrival. In this case 2 Drive Safe may conduct the lesson in the instructors vehicle that is available at the time.
Block bookings enable our instructors to count on future work so we offer a discount on the normal session price.
When making a block booking/ package of lessons, please note these must be taken within 3 months of the purchase date. You will forfeit any monies paid or sessions not taken after this period(unless a valid reason can be given i.e. broken arm, relocation etc).
If you make a block booking and are unable to complete the remaining sessions during this period you must notify us by email email@example.com immediately with the reason. If we decide to offer a refund it will incur an admin fee of $39 and any sessions taken will be calculated at the full single session price before any refund is given.
Defensive Driving Courses
All 4 theory sessions must be completed in order, homework completed and participation in class discussions and workbook completed followed by an in vehicle coaching session (session 5) to complete the DDC.
Cancellations or moving courses within 48 hours of the course start date will incur a minimum $39 admin fee. If we are able to find an additional participant we may waive this fee. If you move courses you will need to pay the admin fee before we confirm your space on the next course. As above per Driving Lessons, please ensure your vehicle is fit for use and road legal for session 5. If you cancel the drive session, are more than 15 mins late (without texting the instructor with reasonable notice) or have a vehicle not fit for use, you may be charged for rebooking the session at an additional cost of $80. If your vehicle is not fit for use and the instructor considers it suitable and has enough time you may be able to take session 5 in their vehicle. There will be an immediate charge of $60 for this, payable by the student at the time of training.
Course certificates: Please ensure you give us the correct information to enter on your completion certificate (full legal name). If a certificate needs to be replaced because of incorrect information supplied or due to being lost or misplaced by the student there will be a $50 replacement charge. This covers the cost of the replacement certificate and admin fees.
In your company vehicle: drivers must ensure that their vehicle has a current WOF and vehicle licence and is fit for use on the day of the lesson. We would also prefer to get into a clean vehicle and reserve the right to refuse a training session if the vehicle is not clean and fit for use. If this happens you may be charged for the training. Any offences committed will be the responsibility of the driver and we recommend that your vehicle be insured for at least Third party cover. If you do not have insurance you must notify the instructor on arrival. In this case 2 Drive Safe may conduct the lesson in the instructors vehicle that is available at the time.
